Title: Search for the Higgs Boson in the WW Decay Mode at CMS

Abstract:

The search for the Higgs boson, the only particle in the Standard Model of particle physics not yet experimentally observed, is currently the main focus of the LHC physics program. The WW decay mode of the Higgs boson is the most powerful channel for much of the allowed Higgs mass range. I report on the results of the search in the WW mode at CMS, currently the most sensitive search for Higgs masses between 120 GeV and 200 GeV. No statistically significant excess is observed in the full data collected in 2011 and a large range of possible Higgs boson masses are excluded at 95% confidence level.
