Title: The Universe from the Dark Ages to the Present: Quasar Science from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey

Abstract:

The Sloan Digital Sky Survey is an imaging and spectroscopic survey of 10000 square degrees of sky at high Galactic latitude. The SDSS quasar survey is well on its way to measuring redshifts for 100000 quasars. Now about 20% completed, the SDSS quasar survey has already produced some of the most spectacular finds in the study of quasars including the highest redshifts ever measured, the epoch of reionization in the universe, and the distribution of matter on the largest scales. I will give an overview of the SDSS quasar survey and focus on some of the more exciting results obtained thus far.
