Title: Closer to the Higgs: a Beauty-full Search for Dibosons

Abstract:

We are living a crucial moment in the history of particle physics. With the LHC starting to test new grounds at the energy frontier and the Tevatron dataset ever increasing we are soon to witness a breakthrough in our understanding of the fundamentals of the Universe. Among the most important questions right now is what gives mass to fundamental particles and the most common answer is via the Higgs mechanism. There is a long standing effort at Tevatron towards finding the Higgs boson. I will present here the experimental challenges posed by such endeavours and the progress so far with an emphasis on the efforts to measure an almost identical process, the gauge boson pair production in hadron collisions.
