Title: A Dark Matter Search at CMS in the Jets+MET Final State

Abstract:

During the last two years the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) delivered collision data at an unprecedented energy for studying fundamental interactions of particles. The LHC experiments performed searches for direct evidence of Beyond Standard Model (BSM) Physics motivated by cosmological observations of non-baryonic dark matter. Among the various signatures, the all-hadronic channel, while experimentally challenging, provides some of the widest coverage of models with strong production of the particles. I will present the results and the novel methodologies adopted for a jets and missing transverse momentum search performed at the CMS experiment, along with perspectives on future dark matter searches.
