Abstract:
B semileptonic decays offer the possibility to better understand the dynamics of the b-quark in B mesons due to the factorization of the hadronic and leptonic currents. The study of these decays allows precision measurements of the CKM matrix elements |Vub| and |Vcb|, testing of Heavy Quark Effective Theory and QCD predictions, and constraining of Beyond-the-Standard-Model new physics effects. The large data sample accumulated by running at the Y(4S) resonance has allowed the BaBar experiment to reach an high sensitivity on many of these measurements. I will present a summary of recent results on B semileptonic decays in BaBar, focussing on open issues and future developments.
