Title: CP Violation in 2005: the LHCb Experiment

Abstract:

In the next few years, a lot of new information will be gathered on the phenomenology of CP violation in the B meson systems. However, much will still remain to be learned in 2005, the foreseen start-up date of LHC, which will provide us with an unprecedented amount of B hadrons. I will summarize the knowledge about CP violation in the B sector that could be available in 2005, and will review the physics capabilities of LHCb, a second-generation dedicated b-physics experiment approved for running at LHC.
