Properties of non-relativistic systems can be computed with great precision due to recent advances in effective field theory methods. The results provide new insights into the structure of the QED perturbation series, and allow one to compute energy levels in Hydrogen and Positronium to order unprecedented accuracy. The same methods can be used to accurately compute the production cross-section, allowing one to detect a Higgs through virtual effects.
