Abstract: Measuremtne of Time Dependent CP Asymmetries in Charmless Penguin-Dominated B Meson Decays at BaBar

Abstract: Penguin, or loop, decays of B mesons are flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNC) mediated processes, which are forbidden at tree level in the Standard Model (SM). These decays are sensitive to non-SM effects, so measurements of such processes constitute sensitive low energy probes for extensions to the SM. The comparison between the Time Dependent CP Asymmetry for penguin b->s decays and for the tree b->c c-bar s decay represents a good example for that. In this talk I will describe measurements of such processes at the BaBar experiment, in particular the first observation of the CP asymmetry violation in the B -> eta' K0 decay.
