Title: Observation of Higgs Candidates around 114 GeV/ at LEP's Highest Energies

Abstract:

Up to August 31, 2000, the ALEPH detector at LEP has collected 154 of data at center-of-mass energies above 205 GeV. In these data, an excess of four-jet Higgs candidates is observed to give a 3 to 4 standard deviation incompatibility with the predicted background. Using the Standard Model Higgs production cross section, the preferred Higgs mass hypothesis is between 113 and 115 GeV/. Results from the four-jet analysis are detailed together with those of significance calculations. Combined results from all decay channels as well as from all LEP experiments are also given.
