Abstract:

Recent developments in lattice QCD for calculating properies of and mesons are discussed. I shall discuss how to use heavy-quark effective theory to control uncertainties in the numerical calculations. Then I will present three specific calculations that are needed to determine the CKM matrix elements and : the form factor for the semi-leptonic decay , the form factor for , and the binding energy and Fermi motion in a meson.
