Title: LHC and ATLAS: Current Status and First Results

Abstract:

The Large Hadron Collider at CERN near Geneva/Switzerland has been running at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV since March 30th 2010. By now it has provided and integrated luminosity of more than 1 pb^-1. These data were taken efficiently by the ATLAS experiment and first physics results have become available. I will review the LHC and ATLAS operation during 2010, the performance of the ATLAS detector and show some initial physics results.
