Title: The Weak Interaction - Past, Present and Future

Abstract:

The weak interaction of particle physics has been known for only a century. Of the four fundamental interactions, it has shown the most surprising properties and is now central to the Standard Model of particle physics. After a historical introduction, this talk presents the current description and experimental highlights concerning the weak interaction. A major part of the talk is devoted to current experiments, their precision results and interpretation within the theory. Open problems and future experimental work will be identified.
