Abstract:

High energy lepton colliders have captured the imagination of the particle physics community. Over the last decade the concepts and technologies required to produce, capture, cool, and accelerate O(10^21) muons per year have been studied, opening the way towards a multi-TeV muon collider. Muon Collider motivation and challenges will be summarized, together with recent R&D progress and prospects for the future.
