Abstract:
A precision measurement of the top quark mass along with the W mass measurement provides information about the Higgs mass within the Standard Model. One of the most important legacies from the Tevatron will be its measurements of the W boson and top quark masses. The CDF group at LBNL has recently achieved the world's second best single measurement of the top quark mass with 955 pb^-1 of data using a novel matrix element integration technique. Details of the measurement will be presented, as well as LBNL plans for improving the measurement. The relevant physics and the present and future of CDF's overall top mass program will also be discussed.
