Abstract:
HERA-B is a fixed target B physics experiment at the electron-proton accelerator HERA at DESY, Germany. A halo wire target is used to produce, among others, B-mesons. The detector and the trigger are optimized to measure CP violation in the "golden decay" channel in a very high rate environment. Detector installation has been completed in the beginning of this year and first physics data have been taken in parallel to the detector and trigger commissioning during this year's running period.
