Abstract:

EDELWEISS is a dark matter search using cryogenic phonon-ionization detectors and located beneath the Alps. We present an update on the first phase of the experiment with three 320 g germanium detectors. We also describe the status of EDELWEISS II to be installed in the Modane Underground Laboratory in 2004 with 10 kg of detectors initially, and which should gain two orders of magnitude in sensitivity.
