Abstract:

Experiments operating at the resonance provide insight into the origins of violation and a window for new physics beyond the Standard Model. I will review contributions made to our understanding of the CKM matrix by the CLEO experiment, focusing on the measurement of one of the most important elements of this matrix, , via exclusive transitions. This analysis is also an example of the powerful interplay between factories experiments and QCD theory, as it provides a crucial test for various form-factor calculations now available.
