Title: Harmony of Scattering Amplitudes: From Collider Physics to Supergravity

Abstract:

Recent years have seen enormous progress in our ability to compute elementary-particle scattering processes in quantum field theory. A remarkable harmony in scattering amplitudes will be illustrated. Examples ranging from from collider physics to supergravity theories will be given. In collider physics this includes new precision calculations of multi-jet processes using quantum chromodynamics. The new ideas are also revitalizing supergravity theories, showing that they are far better behaved in the ultraviolet than had been believed and in certain cases may even be ultraviolet finite.
