HI Mark-

        I've asked the Evelyn Thomson to give RPM on Tues May 18 (she is a
postdoc candidate).  Could you please get this on the RPM schedule and
also, we should let the Physics Dept Staff Committee know that she is a
postdoc candidate and ask them if they want to interview her.  Her letters
are on file.

Hi Marjorie,

        The title is "The W boson mass measurement at LEP" and the
abstract is:

The status of the W boson mass measurement at LEP (MW=80.350 +- 0.056 GeV)
is reviewed.  A brief introduction to WW production and decay at LEP is
given, followed by a detailed case-study of the ALEPH W mass measurement.
Differences in the techniques used by the other LEP collaborations are
highlighted.  The combination of the LEP collaboration W mass results is
discussed and compared to the results from CDF and DO.  The world average
for the W mass is then compared with the Standard Model prediction.
