Subject: May 7th Seminar Date: Wed, 15 Apr 1998 11:56:18 -0500 From: scott@rigoletto.uchicago.edu (Scott Burles) To: Mkihanya@lbl.gov CC: moroi@obelix.lbl.gov, scott@rigoletto Dear Mary Kihanya, I'm the scheduled seminar speaker for May 7th. I'm about to purchase the airline tickets from Chicago, and I had a few questions. Also, I've included the form below, in case I forgot to send earlier. I looked into flights into the San Francisco and Oakland, and could only find ones at $400. I checked into flying into LAX and driving up to San Francisco, that ticket is only $313. I was wondering if this itinerary is suitable for reimbursement purposes, I would request no reimbursement for the drive from LA to SF. If you could also send a map and a few directions, I would appreciate it very much. Thank you, Scott Burles ------------------------------------------------------------------- Name of the speaker : Scott Burles Date of staying : Home institution : U. We measure deuterium absorption in high-redshift, metal-poor QSO absorption systems and directly infer the value of primordial D/H = $3.4 \pm 0.3 \times 10^{-5}$. This is a relatively low value, which supports homogeneous models of BBN with $\eta = 5.1 \pm \, 0.3 \times 10^{-10}$ and $\Omega_b \, h_{100}^2 = 0.019 \pm \, 0.001$.
