Abstract:

BNL E871 has completed a search for rare decays of the K-long with sensitivity near 10**-12. Results include a new limit on the lepton flavor violating decay K-long -> mu + e, an improved branching ratio measurement for the decay K-long -> mu+ mu-, and the first observation of the decay K-long -> e+ e-.
