Abstract:

Discoveries at the Large Hadron Collider have the potential to revolutionize our understanding of Nature at the smallest scales. However, signals of new physics must be distinguished from overwhelming Standard Model backgrounds. I discuss recent progress in making precision theoretical predictions for Standard Model processes to facilitate the interpretation of LHC data.
