Title: Prompt Photon Production at ATLAS

Abstract:

I will report on the first ATLAS measurement of prompt photon production at 7 TeV center-of-mass energy. Prompt photons are especially sensitive to the gluon content of the proton, and can be components of important signatures for new physics. I will review the ATLAS strategies for photon reconstruction, identification, and background subtraction, and I will describe the current measurement and its comparison to theoretical predictions. I will also outline other current and future analyses involving photons at ATLAS.
