Title: Synchrotron Storage Rings for Neutral Molecules and Atoms

Abstract:

Neutral molecules are not effectively slowed, trapped, or cooled by lasers (too many levels). However, many molecules have a separation of charge and can be deflected, focused, and slowed by electric field gradients. The logical progression is to a neutral molecule synchrotron storage ring, which can be desk-top size. How to build one for molecules (and atoms) and its possible uses will be discussed.
