Title: Ordinary Geniuses: The Story of Two Physicists who Changed Science

Abstract:

Born early in the 20th century, Max Delbruck and George Gamow were maverick physicists, each of them having as well a great sense of humor. The two lifelong friends went on to become respectively pioneers in molecular biology and cosmology. Their story illustrates some of the strengths and weaknesses a physicist might have entering a new field of science.
