Title: Measuring CP Violation in BaBar: Challenges, Results and Prospects

Abstract:

The measurement of time-dependent asymmetries in decays of neutral B mesons by the BaBar experiment has led to a number of important results, including the first observation of CP violation in the B meson system, the measurement of in different decay modes, measurements aimed at the determination of the angle alpha of the Unitarity Triangle, as well as precise measurements of the oscillation frequency. One of the key ingredients to all of these measurements is B flavor tagging. I will discuss the measurement of CP violation in BaBar with particular emphasis on the analysis and on the BaBar B flavor tagging algorithm. Finally, I will discuss the prospects for future measurements.
