Abstract:

A new preliminary measurement of the time-dependent CP-violating asymmetry in neutral B decays to at the BaBar detector is presented. In the Standard Model the amplitude of this asymmetry is proportional to . Prior measurements of have been from neutral B decays to charmonium, i.e. the final state. The comparison of new measurements of in with current measurements from is highly sensitive to several typical models of new physics beyond the Standard Model. Other recent results from BaBar in B to double charm decays which lead up to this measurement are also presented.
