Subject: Re: Invitation to Give a Research Progress Meeting at LBNL Date: Tue, 23 Feb 1999 21:59:18 +0100 (MET) From: "Prof. Eberhard Klempt" To: MKihanya@lbl.gov CC: kammel@nsdssp.lbl.gov, klempt@iskp.uni-bonn.de (Eberhard Klempt) Dear Dr. Mrs. Kihanya, dear Peter, thank you for the invitation to give a talk in Berkeley. I plan to arrive in San Francisco on Sunday, March 14 at 13.09h with UA1521, and will leave on Saturday, March 20 at 8.55h with UA2110. I have booked a car at the airport. On Tuesday, I will give a seminar at SLAC. So if I may I would accept your invitation to arrive on Thursday morning at LBL and leave on Saturday morning. I have a B1 or J1 visa. I propose to give a talk on Gluons in Hadron Spectroscopy Quantum chromodynamics suggests the existence of states with constituent glue, of glueballs which are formed by gluons and of hybrid mesons which can be interpreted as excitations of the gluon string mediating the quark-antiquark strong interaction. Recent experiments, in particular the Crystal Barrel Experiment at LEAR and experiments at the MPS at BNL, have found evidence for states with properties which suggest that gluonic matter has been discovered. I hope the information covers the essential points. I will come to see you on Thursday, March 18, 1999, in the course of the morning. It is a pity that you, Peter, are absent but that is life! Looking forward to see you at LBL Yours sincerely Eberhard Klempt > > Dear Dr. Klempt: > > The Physics Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory invites > you to give a talk on Thursday, March 18, 1999 at 4:00 PM. > > Please send me a short abstract for you talk ASAP. > > During your visit to Berkeley, we can provide you with secretarial > assistance, access to our computer facilities and a desk. > > LBNL will reimburse your domestice airfare up to $500, rental car expense for > 3 days, hotel accomodation for two nights, and daily expenses ($46 per day) > for 2 days.
