Sector Engineering Drawings and related

The pictures below are links to PDF drawing packages of the Disk Ring and the Bare Sector.  The Disk ring package is currently only the layout drawing for ATLAS Pixel Disks.  All drawings are available in HPGL format as well from the LBNL Drawing Server navigable by LBNL Drawing number.  Links to dxf and iges may eventually be added--these formats will also be available via EDMS data exchange (link above right).

Information about sectors past is availablehere.

"Reversed" Disk design--BASELINE

The Disk design has progressed through several stages of development.  The most basic of which is the number of sectors.  Starting with 12 sectors some few years ago, the design has settled on an 8-sector geometry having gone through every number between 8 and 12.  This final design is the result of both re-scoping and a shift in design to an "Insertable Pixel System."  The Cooling Tubes pass over the support ring and around the ears.  Initially this was the design for only the first disk which had to be "reversed" to allow room for Barrel services, however in the interest of making all disks and sectors the same, this design was adopted for the remaining disks.

Sector Baseline

The Baseline Sector cooling tubes extend up and over the Disk Ring to which it is mounted.  The tube extensions bend down after passing over the Ring to provide clearance for the fittings which terminate the cooling tubes.  The fittings are not shown here.
